Therapy FAQs

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is simply a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s been on your mind, what you’d like support with, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

How long is a therapy session?

Most sessions last about 45–53 minutes, depending on your insurance and needs. It’s your time, set aside just for you.

How often will we meet?

Many people come weekly or every other week, but we’ll choose a rhythm that feels right for your needs, your goals, and your life.

How long does therapy last?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come for a few months, and others choose to stay longer as they continue growing. We’ll move at a pace that works for you.

Do you offer online/virtual therapy?

Yes. At this time we offer virtual therapy only for clients located in NJ, using only HIPAA-compliant platforms. Many people appreciate the convenience and comfort of meeting from home. Online sessions are secure, private, and just as meaningful as in-person therapy.

What ages or types of clients do you work with?

We work with teens (typically ages 16 and up), adults, and couples.

Can I switch therapists if it doesn’t feel like the right fit?

Absolutely. Feeling comfortable and supported is essential. If you ever feel like another therapist might be a better match, we’ll help you find someone who fits your needs.

What should I do in a crisis or emergency?

While we don’t provide emergency services, support is available. If you’re in immediate danger or feeling unsafe, please call your local emergency number, visit the nearest ER, or see the crisis resources at the bottom of this page.
